Car insurance quotes the General
I wish I could rate this lower. My experience with this company has been deplorable to say the very least.
I was hit from behind by one of their policy holders two months ago, and have had the most awful runaround with these people. A police officer witnessed the wreck, and did confirm that it was their policy holder's fault. Since then I have dealt with two of their insurance adjusters to receive compensation. Both people spoke to me once only to never call back until I either sent in a complaint to customer service, or had my insurance call them. I left over a dozen messages on both adjuster's answering machines, only to never hear another word. The first gentleman promised I would be getting a rental car, and that I'd hear from him the next business day. Needless to say, that never happened. When my insurance offered to send them the police report to speed up the process they told her that wouldn't be necessary, as they had already claimed full liability. But when I called to ask about how much I'd be getting back for my totaled car, they said they had no idea what I was talking about and needed a police report. I called my insurance adjuster back, and she couldn't believe what I was telling her. She was livid. After her second call to The General, suddenly they magically had a police report and admitting full liability. I was then transferred to a woman that dealt with payments. After our first conversation I never heard back. I left message after message on her answering machine. She said that she would be sending me some paper work to fill out and have notarized. More than a week past and nothing. No paper work. We were in the same state! So I called customer service again, and they apologized. Two days later the paperwork came in. I filled it out, had it notarized and mailed back the same day. Two days later I called to see if they received it. No answer. I called customer service who said that they had received the paper work and that I should be receiving a check shortly. TWO WEEKS PASS! I left dozens of voice mails on this damn woman's answering machine with not ONE call back. So, this time I call her local office and ask for her by name less than a minute after I get her voice mail. Magically she's suddenly available to speak! I tried to explain to her the situation and she interrupted me! So I raised my voice above her and told her how unhappy I was with the service, and how I was going to let everyone I knew know! She then said she would be overnighting the check to me. Her excuse was, "No one told me the paper work was on my desk". HOW MESSY IS YOUR DAMN DESK LADY!!? It's been two weeks. I'm supposed to receive the check today. We'll see what happens. There's no doubt in my mind that it is company police for General employees to lie to customers about payment status, and to not return calls until customer service has been contacted. I'm curious as to how many people don't get payed because they just give up.
This company lies, cheats and steals unapologetically and cancels you without knowledge or reason while keeping your money. DO NOT use them
